Augmentt 2021: An outstanding year in review

Table of Contents

As an eventful 2021 draws to a close, we should pause for a moment to take stock. Despite the many challenges of the ongoing pandemic, we’ve enjoyed a fantastic Year Two at Augmentt, with many notable accomplishments to celebrate. The momentum of our rapid growth is reverberating through our offices and in conversations with our partners around the world. Here are the highlights of our past 12 months.

We launched Augmentt Engage for M365 and quickly added Google Workspace support

In May, our  SaaS management platform, Augmentt Engage, made an impactful debut, enabling MSPs to easily accelerate SaaS management with streamlined provisioning, simplified daily user management, improved productivity, and enhanced security—all at scale from a single screen.

“Having the ability to discover, manage and secure these SaaS applications proactively, remotely from one Engage platform will be a big advantage for the MSP,” noted James Wood, CTO of CalTech.

Although Engage initially supported Microsoft 365 applications, “Immediately our MSP partners were knocking down our door for Google Workspace support as well,” said Augmentt VP of Product, Ali Mahmoud.

We launched Augmentt Secure and were SOC 2-certified

In October, our deepened commitment to security bore fruit on two related fronts: we released Augmentt Secure—placing MSPs at the forefront of cloud software security for the modern enterprise—and we successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 audit.

With Secure, we were excited to address the MSPs growing need for centralized and multi-tenant cloud app security monitoring and management for Microsoft 365—and to take it a step further with remediation. We see 2022 as the year that MSPs really start to capitalize.

As a great follow-up, our SOC 2 audit certified that Augmentt’s information security practices, policies, procedures, and operations meet industry-best standards for security, availability, and confidentiality. Our customers can now feel even more confident that we maintain the highest levels of security and compliance.

We launched Mac agent with Addigy and Backup with CloudAlly

Our partnership this year with Addigy, an Apple device management tool, now allows Mac users to manage and secure their client’s cloud applications using Augmentt. And through our partnership with industry-leading CloudAlly, Augmentt customers can rest easy knowing their client’s data is backed up and secure with Augmentt Backup.

We created 3 new programs for MSPs: Augment Academy, Augmentt Assist, and Augmentt Analytics

In June, our Augmentt Academy went live, a learning portal that gives MSP the SaaS services education, resources, and Go-To-Market templates that they’ve been missing.

Augmentt Academy is a multi-media learning portal that includes several lucrative SaaS management course tracks. Our goal has always been to be a complete partner to MSPs and support them holistically with their SaaS service offering. Augmentt Academy now allows us to do that.

Augmentt Assist and Augmentt Analytics are two value-add programs that provide MSPs with more custom reporting and dashboards, data exports, and scheduled report delivery.

We achieved key integrations with CloudRadial and Datto

The first of our 2021 product integrations now allow partners to see Augmentt’s SaaS Security and Management data within a CloudRadial IT client portal. This innovation will help MSPs to better understand their client’s IT environment, shed light on Shadow IT, and showcase the resulting insights to customers for a real leg up on the competition.

We also joined the Datto Developer Partner Program and made a dedicated Augmentt component available on the Datto store. We plan to work more extensively with Datto’s integration and development team for continual improvement in connectivity across both ecosystems.

We reached further with a new distributor, affiliate, reseller networks, and peer groups

Our newly launched Distributor Program is global in scope and will assist distributors with dedicated sales training, training materials, technical resources, and marketing collateral.

Through our Agent and Affiliate Program, individuals who connect interested MSPs to Augmentt receive a referral fee for every closed deal, while our Resellers partner program has greatly enhanced Augmentt’s global reach and enabled us to meet the rapidly growing global demand.

While our Freemium program is still our most popular MSP offering, the Reseller option will dramatically increase our partner recruitment efforts and make it even easier for MSPs to start generating profitable SaaS management services.

We’ve made long-lasting connections with Peer Groups like CompTIA, MSP Alliance, Taylor Business Group, MSP Ignite and TruMethods which has allowed us to tap into MSP communities to better understand how we can create a product that will best support their needs.

Looking ahead to 2022 and beyond

We’re incredibly proud of the progress that’s been made towards our goal of empowering MSPs to evolve their managed services to include SaaS security and Management. We get excited every time we speak with MSPs who see how the industry has evolved towards the cloud, and how much still remains ahead for SaaS and cloud application services.

As we look ahead to 2022, we see Augmentt as a force for change that will enable more and more MSPs to dive into the next wave of managed services. Gavin and I have the same feeling we had in the early days of N-able when RMM completely revolutionized the MSP business model, and that’s exactly the type of change we see ahead of us today.
